Sally Hansen - Brisk Blue

Review of Sally Hansen in #430, Brisk Blue

Now this is one of my favourite blue polishes ever, and that is saying something as I have a lot of blue nail polish!
The colour you see in the bottle is exactly what you get on your nails. One coat would probably have been ok, but I applied two, over a Leighton Denny base coat, and topped off with an OPI rapid dri top coat.

Sally Hansen #430

Like I said, I love the colour and it is true to the colour you see in the bottle, but I was very disappointed in the brush. Although at first I was excited to see such a long handled brush, as I find them so much easier to use, the actual brush head was like a stick almost. It made a neat application almost impossible and I ended up with a lot of polish down the sides of my nails. Because I love the colour so much this won't put me off using it, but I will be sure to check on Sally Hansen insta-dri polishes in future and try to avoid them if all the brushes are like this one.

Hopefully you can see what I mean by "almost like a stick" in this photo!

Have you used any of the insta-dri polishes from Sally Hansen? And if so, what did you think about the brush?

  6. Hmmm, I love the brush actually. I find it easy to get each nail done with almost one swipe. I find this polish wears fabulously and plan on picking up more colors.
Thank you for for coming by Like Fine Wine and letting us know about your site!! I've had a great time reading about your experiences.

    1. Well because I love the colour I will carry on using this polish, but normally I hardly need to clean up my nails, i don't smudge but with this i had polish everywhere lol I am probably spoilt though as 90% of my nail polish is OPI and I love their brushes. I have a few Calvin Klein and I really don't like those brushes either, they seem so small you have to make several swipes to get your nail covered. Even MUA for a pound have better brushes than CK! xx
