There isn't any gift that can express how much we love and appreciate our Mother's, but I chose lovely things which are mostly discounted, not because our Mother's don't deserve full price gifts but so you can get more for your money and therefore treat Mum to something even nicer. I am lucky enough to still have my Mum and I am grateful every day for that fact. I hope all the Mother's out there  have a wonderful Mother's day, whether you spend it with your children, your Mother, or someone who you love like your Mother.

Do you know what you are buying for your Mum yet? Let me know if you have found any great bargains out there.

The Oscars 2013

The 85th Academy Awards Red Carpet

This years red carpet look was all sparkles and satin, with so many incredibly beautiful gowns it was hard to just choose these few to show you. But I think these are some of the best, and one or two of the worst, maybe?

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior couture

Naomi Watts in Armani Prive

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture.

Amy Adams in Oscar De La Renta

Robin Roberts in Marc Bouwer

Jennifer Aniston in Valentino

Adele in Jenny Packham custom wear, which apparently weighed 15 kilos!!

Anne Hathaway in Prada

Catherine Zeta-Jones in Zuhair Murad

Sally Field in Valentino

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

Reese Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton

Kelly Rowland in Donna Karan Atelier

Kelly Osbourne in Tony Ward couture, and a Judith Leiber bag

Kristen Stewart in Naeem Khan, Kristen actually arrived on crutches!

Halle Berry in Versace

Brandi Glanville (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) apparently designed this gown herself! At least she won't have to fire the designer for this hideous dress, Brandi gets my award for worst dressed on the red carpet this year.

And let's finish our look at the Oscar Red carpet with the cutest looking girl there...

Quvenzhane Wallis in Armani Junior, and a cute puppy bag

From the perfection of Charlize Theron in her Dior couture, and Adele flying the flag with her 15 kilo Jenny Packham, to the rather unbecoming Versace chosen by the beautiful Halle Berry, and the dreadful, self designed, barely nipple covering monstrosity that Brandi Galnville, (who? exactly) wore, I hope you enjoyed checking out the gowns I chose for this blog.

Which is your favourite? And I doubt I need to ask, but which did you think was the worst gown - out of the ones above? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Milan Fashion Week A/W 2013

Prada

Always one of the most highly anticipated shows of fashion month, Prada showed on day two of Milan Fashion Week, and as expected praise was heaped upon Miuccia Prada, here we can see why...

Prada A/W 2013

There was a colour palette ranging from black and grey to light pink and blue, used in checked fabric and leather. There were elegant silhouettes and flashes of red and aqua, all of which seem to indicate a Winter of smart looks that will easily transfer to the high street.

Versace

There were more checks seen in the Versace collection but this time in tartan, and of course Donnatella also used leather and spikes, bold colour and lots of white, as always the "rock chic" stylist to the rich and famous.

So, as always MFW is stylish, elegant and what we all expect from Italy. Do you have a favourite designer from the shows so far? Or did you prefer NYFW or perhaps LFW instead?

What's in my handbag?

Let's have a nosey inside my handbag

Everyone in the blogosphere has done a "What's in my handbag" post, except me it seems. So without further ado here is mine.

I use this bag every day, even though I have a cupboard full of bags. Primarily because it holds quite a lot and is a cross body bag, the only type of bag I can use regularly because of my spinal disease as they distribute the weight so I don't hurt my back or neck any more than it already is. It is a black leather Jasper Conran bag from Debenhams which only cost about £40 if I remember correctly, I have had it for about 18 months now.

The contents of my bag, well  except for all my hospital and doctor's appointment cards and paperwork which I keep in the back zipped section of my bag and which no one really needs, or probably wants, to see.

My purse is a black leather Osprey, bought for me by my lovely son about two years ago. I love this purse, it is so roomy and has lots of pockets for credit cards, loyalty cards etc.

This holds all my medication that I have to have with me at all times. I received it when I bought a Tibetan mala bead bracelet. I have had a lot of jewellery come in these little Asian fabric purses, but usually they are much smaller than this one, this is the ideal size to hold all my meds.

The contents

My prescription sunglasses, I have to wear sunglasses whenever we have a bit of sun or I get a horrible headache.

These Camouflage bags are fab, they fold up so neat and small but are very strong.

I only carry a few beauty products most of the time, and these are the things I rarely leave home without. I love perfume samples for throwing in my bag and always have one or two with me. My favourite lip balm is this tinted Burt's Bees, the chap stick is an old favourite that seems to be lasting forever! I love my eye liners so try to always have one with me to try and make it look like I haven't been awake for 72 hours straight! The Dermologica cream is just for when my skin feels particularly dry or tight, and of course - my old faithful - L'occitane hand cream. And finally one of my gorgeous Clinique chubby sticks.

Got to have tissues and wet wipes with me all the time.

This was a Christmas gift and I love it. Down the side is a small pen, when you take the pen out it opens up to a small writing pad, really useful and very pretty.

Odds and sods, my trolley token, tweezers and  lighter.

I picked this up as part of a birthday gift when I was shopping the other day and forgot it was in my handbag to be honest.

So there you have it, the contents of my handbag. I used to always carry much bigger bags and carried around everything but the kitchen sink, but as my spinal disease has progressed I am unable to carry that sort of weight and this handbag has become a firm favourite as it is so comfortable to wear and holds a decent amount. I also usually have my cell phone and camera in my bag when I leave the house, but as I haven't been out of the house for a few days, due to my stupid spine, my phone isn't here and of course I was using my camera :)

Do you use the same bag most days, or do you change it out to match your outfits? If you have written a WIMB post please feel free to leave the link below and if I haven't already I will check it out.
